When done right, branded items can have a higher hit rate than online advertising. They can also stay with your customers for years. An item with a perceived higher value doesn't get thrown out - but it may get handed off to another potential customer and a new audience.
What do you think the ROI is on something like that?
In partnership with ProForma NBT, I am here to support you in all your Promotional Product needs.
Promotional products are not about giving stuff away. It's about positioning your company for better BRAND AWARENESS, and RETURN ON INVESTMENT with your marketing spend.
My goal is to make sure you are utilizing your marketing budget to it’s fullest.
How do we get people to hang on to it?
How do we get people to talk about you?
How can they find you once they have it?
Branded items should be a forethought, not an afterthought. If done right, it will have more longevity than any other marketing piece you will produce. There is a reason Nike, Under Armour, and Virgin put their brand identifier on everything.
Trade Shows and Events
Trade shows and events are the best ways to connect with people and generate solid leads. They have come to you and are already interested in what you do. You can’t ask for more as a salesperson. From a branding standpoint, you have two goals.
Look slick, so they want to come up and talk to you. You should be easy to identify from a distance and 100% on brand.
Have a giveaway that directs them back to your company. Put your website on it!
The garments and items that get worn are absolutely a direct reflection of your business. Choose wisely.
Is your brand athletic? Is “quality” a selling feature of your business? How about longevity? When choosing items, you need to consider your company brand and have it reflected in what you wear or choose to give out for other people to wear.
Getting your foot in the door as a salesperson is difficult, but branded items can help. Bring in a branded promotional item that is quality and won’t get thrown away. Send it as a gift (package it nicely with your card and note) to your prospect as a warm introduction. Then give it a day or two after arrival and make contact. The social rule of reciprocity will almost always get you a conversation.
The Welcome Package
Whether it is a new client, a conference attendee, or a new employee, you need to make them feel welcome. This is an upfront cost, however it sets the stage for all three to feel immediately like part of the team, and gets them excited to build a working relationship. First impressions count and they bring in money.
Incentives and Recognition
We are Canadians, and a “thank you” goes a long way.
Incentives and recognition of your employees and partners are more important than most managers realize.
How many people do the team you work with talk to in a day, a week or a year? When people feel appreciated, listened to, and looked after, they are the best sales team you could ever ask for.
Happy and relaxed teams are more productive, creative in finding solutions and take less time off work for illness. What you save in loss of productivity and people taking sick days should cover the cost. In addition, you have the added value of a fantastic work environment to go to every day with increased sales.
Let's get started.
